The number one way to grow a blog is a tall order. I’ll bet you were wondering how I would narrow it down to just one thing!
I am pretty sure, for me, that it is READING. It is very overarching, but reading is the #1 thing that motivates me to make my blog better. I am always reading “about Blogging”.
I like to find a few key bloggers to follow who blog on blogging or social media. The obvious way to keep up with them is to subscribe to their email newsletters. I like to keep up with them in social media, but I don’t like them to get mixed in with all my casual newsfeed stuff, so I choose one social media account to keep up with them. It is easiest on G+. I like to make a Circle just for those people, and I go check that Circle Feed each day to keep up. Which reminds me…go follow me on G+!
I know, for some of you, you will feel like my answer of “READING” is time consuming and unproductive. But there is no substitute, in business, for keeping your ear to the ground…keeping up with what is new and what other people are doing.
Learn from others!

Hello! Actually, I am persuaded!
I don’t read enough about blogging- I’ve always been a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of blogger. But huge stat slump due to Pinterest changes has me delving in to you blog- and now I’m not gonna stop!
Thank you for your insights!

Hi, Jill. I really appreciate your insight. In a world full of competition, we can avoid reading because of our own feelings of insecurity (I wrote about this myself last month: http://www.heidibethsadler.com/blog/why-i-avoid-reading).
The best thing that writers can do is read. Thanks for reaffirming this for me. God bless.

Love that article…Blessing and Humility…great gifts! I so agree that to avoid is robbing ourselves and others. But it is not easy when things aren’t going well for yourself!

Hi! I’m a brand-new blogger (as in, the only one reading my posts is my mom, brand new). I was looking for ways to increase my online presence, and I’ve been seeing your stuff around the web. There’s a lot of great information there, but I’m on information overload right now…so I picked one thing to focus on, and joined Google+ :). Wish me luck!
